Cooks Green Holiday Cottage in Gloucestershire, South West England

What an amazing place. Really friendly welcome and a lovely place to stay – all eventualities catered for.

Had a lovely time, the cottage is very homely and just what we needed. Jasper (Westie) loved it especially the garden. We loved watching the birds on the feeders (woodpeckers). Would love to come back.

Thank you for the use of your beautiful cottage. We have had a super break away over Christmas and have been very impressed by both the cottage and the surrounding countryside. We are all very relaxed and have found the cottage a perfect spot from which to go exploring. Ron has had a super time too and doesn’t really want to go home.

Another good visit. Becoming a “home from home”. Dogs loved the walks and the flooded fields!

We spent a lovely time in this very nice cottage. With our three little daughters we visited some nice places in the Cotswolds, went to Oxford and even made some walks in the neighbourhood and Wales. Very nice holiday indeed.

A lovely cottage to spend a few nights in while visiting family in Tewkesbury. The boys loved playing football in the garden and watching some of the old videos. It was lovely to have the personal touches such as all the paintings. Thank you for the welcome pack also.

We had no idea how much there was to do in the area. We’ll have to come back for more. Loved the wood burner which helped us make our minds up to get one to fill an empty fireplace that we’ve been deliberating over at home!

We have really enjoyed our week in the cottage. Tali (Welsh Springer) has loved playing in the garden and looking at puss through the cat flap! We’ve been visiting places where family lived in the 18th and 19th centuries, including Ashleworth, Hartpury and Corse on the other side of the river. Ashleworth is beautiful, with its church, little barn, court house and pub (The Boat) beside the river, cuckoo and kingfisher in the background.

This is our second time staying at your cottage and once again it has been wonderful. We were very surprised to see the little black cat again, but it’s looking better than ever. Bobo, the beautiful black and white rescue dog was another great surprise and me and Anna really enjoyed stroking him.

Cottage is very clean and comfy. Great base from which to explore. Had a really relaxing time before we take on our new pub venture. The Farmers Arms has good beer and food, very nice and reasonably priced. The Haw Bridge does a fantastic Sunday Carvery. If you like Indian food the Rajshahi on the High Street in Tewkesbury. Dogs loved the garden. It’s a shame we had to leave early due to bereavement but rest assured we will return. Good luck and best wishes

A charming cottage, very welcoming and well-equipped, Many thanks for all the thoughtful touches – the welcome pack, milk, good explanations on how everything worked, the choice of videos, games, books for all ages – much appreciated. It was like staying at a friend’s house for a week. Also like the way that it is an eco-friendly house and chance to compost and recycle. Very friendly black cat purred companionably in the kitchen. Thanks a lot.

My seventieth birthday celebrations with my family in Gloucester were great. The icing on the cake was staying here in a cottage tailor-made for us all – daughter Jane, son-in-law Stephane and partner Gwen. I personally love your free range hens.

We have had a lovely week. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could wish for. Like the previous guest said, I don’t know who enjoyed it more, us or the dogs. They had a wonderful time and more importantly they were safe in the garden. Kind regards

Dear Su & Len. We had a great time here at Cooks Green Cottage for the last 3 weeks. It was a very charming way to discover the English countryside lifestyle, especially the girls, who hadn’t been here before. We didn’t see you much but thank you for bringing the girls to see the polo ponies; it became a daily ritual. Thank for everything. Merci pour tout!

We’ve had a very enjoyable week. The cottage is very comfortable and this area is beautiful and leaves much to be explored on future visits. We enjoyed cycling here as it is far less hill than home. The little black cat will miss us as she has adopted us this week. We return to our own two cats but look forward to coming back.
